Does this prove a site is down for everyone?

No. It checks from the server running this tool. Local ISP, regional blocking, DNS cache, or device issues can still affect your own connection.

Why are private URLs blocked?

Private and local addresses are blocked to prevent unsafe server-side requests.

What status means the site is reachable?

Any HTTP response means the server answered. A 2xx or 3xx response is usually healthy, while a 5xx status usually points to a server-side problem.

What is the difference between down and slow?

A website can be reachable but slow. Check the response time together with the HTTP status to understand whether the site is unavailable or just responding slowly.

Can redirects affect website status?
